Senior Women’s football player, Romelcia Phillip is expressing confidence that the Dominica Senior Women’s National Team can come off with a victory when they face Turks and Caicos at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium next month April 6, 2022.
In an exclusive interview with Alyan Christopher of DFA Media, she expressed her “joy” at being back training with the team and is looking forward to gaining three points against Turks & Caicos.
“I’m definitely expecting us to bring at least a win at home versus Turks & Caicos,” she said. The star forward did not feature for the Dominica team against Guyana and Trinidad & Tobago in the team’s first-round matches due to a positive COVID-19 test. She says, however, “It is great to be back.”
Both teams (Dominica and Turks & Caicos) are gunning for a victory in Group F of the CONCACAF W Qualifiers. Both teams suffered defeats in their opening fixtures in February. The Dominica Women were hammered 4-0 by the Guyana Women and then suffered a 2-0 defeat to Trinidad and Tobago. Dominica currently occupies fourth in Group F with zero (0) points after their two games played—a goal difference of -6.
