The 29 clubs expected to participate in the 2022 Dominica Football Association’s President’s Cup have been drawn into groups. The draw took place on Thursday, 25th August 2022 at the Patrick John Football House at Bath Estate.
A total of six clubs have been drawn in Groups A, B, C, and D, while 5 clubs will participate in Group E. The top three clubs from each group will automatically advance to the knockout stage which begins in the round of 16. The points of all the 4th place finishers will be divided by the number of games played. The club with the highest average will take up the 16th spot. If the averages are tied, the club which accumulates fewer cautions will advance.
Patrick John’s Cup champion, Sagicor General South East FC have been drawn in Group C together with Petro Caribe Pointe Michel FC. The other clubs in the group are BAA Sharks FC, Do It Center Mighty Avengers FC, Trafalgar FC, and South Dominators FC.
Group A comprises Central Cooperative Credit Union Dublanc FC, Tranquility Beach Middleham United FC, Calibishie Diasporas FC, Blue Waters Bath Estate FC, LA Starz FC, and ACS Pottersville Tarish United FC. According to football analysis, this group is considered to be the toughest since a total of four premiere division clubs are included.
Valvoline WE United FC, Mahaut Soca Strikers FC, All Saints FC, Kensborogh United, Exodus FC, and RC Doctors FC are the clubs that will compete in Group B.
Promex Harlem United, Glanvillia Renegades FC, LA Enterprises Bombers FC, Police Sports Club, Island Gemz Jimmit Ballers FC, and Wooty Blazers FC make up Group D.
Group E comprises five clubs namely, East Central FC, DS FC, St. Joseph FC, Derby Boyz FC, and Itassi United FC.
The first match of DFA’s second competition will kick off on 31st August 2022 at 6 pm at the Stockfarm Sports Complex.
