Weather Outlook for Dominica and the Lesser Antilles
Valid from: 6:00 AM on Saturday, September 3, 2022
At 5 am, Tropical Storm Earl, which formed near the Leeward Islands at 11 pm last night, was located about 230 miles north of Dominica or about 115 miles east northeast of the northern Leeward Islands. This system poses no direct threat to Dominica as it is presently moving west-northwest away from Dominica. However, unstable conditions due to the presence of Tropical Storm Earl will be affecting the area during the next 24 hours. Periods of cloudiness with some showers and possible isolated thunderstorms are expected across parts of the island during the period. People in areas prone to flooding, landslides, and falling rocks are advised to be on alert.
Slight to moderate seas are anticipated during the next 24 hours, with waves peaking at 5.0ft in eastern coastal waters. An increase in swells can be expected on the northern and western coasts by tomorrow.
Please note that a greater degree of cloudiness, more frequent rainfall, and higher rainfall amounts are normally experienced across the east coast and interior of Dominica.
