Magistrate dismisses theft charge against Michael Peters and Man Slaughter charge against Don Hilton Bobb for “want of “prosecution

Michael Peters of Goodwill, who was employed at Phone Tech, and was arrested and charged for reportedly stealing over $51,000 from the company walked out of the court “a free man” on Monday, October 17, 2022, after Magistrate Bernard Pacquette dismissed the matter for “want of prosecution.”

Phone Tech managed the LIME Store in Roseau in 2013.

The alleged theft took place between June 2 and 7, 2013, according to the police.

Court witnesses were absent, and Magistrate Pacquette stated that the matter was adjourned to October 17, 2022, as “a final adjournment.”

“The prosecution is just failing the people, not serving people and people not coming to court, this is just unfortunate, the police do what they want, and don’t come to court, even the constables doing the same thing,” he stated visible annoyed about the situation.

He also recounted his years as a police officer and said such could not have happened.

“Warrants are being issued by the court and are not being executed by the police…is just unacceptable,” he stated.

Magistrate Pacquette also dismissed for “want of prosecution” a manslaughter man Don Hilton Bobb. This is a 2013 matter and according to Pacquette, he recalls that these were his first two matters when he came on the Bench.

Bobb was charged with an incident that occurred in Fond Cole at a liquor Shop during which Jashvin Jean Jacques was stabbed in the chest.

Jean Jacques it is alleged, assaulted Bobb with a cutlass and he (Bobb) sustained multiple injuries to his head, fingers, and other parts of his body.

Gina Dyer Munro represented both men in court. He also advised them both that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) can reinstate the matter if she so pleases.

  1. What a rogue island! Why are the police responsible not being reprimanded? This is what the slave plantation mentality island will have when a rotten fish head is responsible for being involved with the selection of police!!
