Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred at a popular entertainment spot in the center of Roseau in the early hours of September 23, 2023, that left two men dead.
Video footage being circulated shows one man being assisted by many friends and onlookers after the shooting incident.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting incident are not known at this time.
Police Officers at the Crime Scene this morning
Nature Isle News (NIN) was at the crime scene and spoke to the police who confirmed that both men were dead.
Dead is 33-year-old Jamie Simeon, of Silver Lake, and Tyrone Mitchel from Campbell, aged 24 years.
According to Police Inspector Fixton Henderson, “At about 1:50 am on Saturday, September 23, 2023, multiple gunshots were fired at the Garage Bar & Grill on Hanover Street in Roseau and as a result, Tyrone Mitchel and Jamie Simeon sustained gunshot wounds.”
“Both men were transported to the Dominica China Friendship Hospital (DCFH) where they were examined by a medical doctor and pronounced dead…anyone with information relative to this incident is asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) 266-5164, 5165, 5119, 5157 or 5185,” he said.
This brings to 14 the number of homicides in Dominica for the year 2023.
