Dominica revokes 68 CBI Passports

The Government of Dominica has issued a “Citizen Deprivation Order” effectively canceling the citizenship of 68 individuals who had obtained their status through the Citizenship by Investment programme (CIP).

The Minister of Citizenship Mirum Blanchard and Gazetted signed the order on June 6, 2024.

  1. We have been reassured time and again by the authorities that the applicants for CBI passports were properly vetted, and that there was a rigorous due diligence mechanism in place. Were we being lied to?
    Re the individuals who are alleged to have paid fees lower than the prescribed fees, why should they, the buyers be “punished”? Should it not be the responsibility of the vendors/agents to ensure that the correct amount was paid?
