PRESS RELEASE
ROSEAU, Dominica – The Dominica Council On Ageing Inc. (DCOA) proudly announces its 29th Annual General Meeting (AGM), scheduled to take place on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 9.30 am, at the St. Alphonsus Parish Hall, Goodwill, under the inspiring theme: “Honouring the Past, Shaping Tomorrow.”
This year’s AGM will bring together Council members and representatives of affiliate organizations to reflect on the progress made in advocating for the rights and well-being of Older Persons in Dominica. The meeting also presents an opportunity to chart a renewed path forward in strengthening support systems and policies that enhance the lives of our senior citizens.
The theme, “Honouring the Past, Shaping Tomorrow,” reflects the Council’s continued commitment to acknowledging the invaluable contributions of our elderly population while taking active steps toward building a more inclusive, age-friendly society.
“We are excited to gather once again to share in meaningful dialogue, recognize our achievements, and strengthen our resolve to serve our ageing population with dignity and purpose,” said Nigel Lawrence, President of the Dominica Council on Ageing. “Our AGM is a critical moment of reflection, unity, and planning for the future.”
The meeting will hear reports on the Council’s activities over the past year, presentation of its audited Financial Statements, and election of the Board of Directors. Key presentations will also feature the Past Presidents who have led and set the foundation for the DCOA.
