Ann Luke is the million plus Lotto jackpot winner

Ann Luke is the Dominica National Lotteries Jackpot winner of $1,197,375.00.

That ticket was purchased at Minyas in Canefield. She told a press conference that as she gives “thanks to God” for her winning, she is “happy and elated, calling it “bittersweet” for her.

The 59-year-old explained that she purchased over three hundred dollars worth of tickets, and her Super Six was via the Combo route, where it totaled $84.00.

“When I saw that post of Riceman (Garvin Richards) on Facebook stating that Dominica had won the million-dollar jackpot lotto and the ticket was purchased at Minyas in Canefield, I was excited,” she stated.

She stated that upon checking her ticket after attending church service, the following was in her vehicle: she “cried and screamed” when she found out she I won. “I called my family, and they did not believe me…I did not sleep properly for two weeks. I kept the ticket under my pillow, and if I went to the toilet, I would go check if it was safe, and while people were saying all kinds of things that the person had lost the winning ticket, I had it safe,” she said.

She has been playing lotto for years and encouraged others to play the game. “You, like me, just don’t know when that chance of you winning comes your way, so just be in it to win it,” she said.

Her first order of business, she stated, is to donate to her church, share with her family, and take a much-needed trip to the Caribbean. “I need to know the various Caribbean islands, so that is part of it after I have donated to church and family and done my investment,” she remarked, smiling.

Also, collecting his winnings for the Blast Mystery Progressive game of $355,209.77 was Derrick Augustine of Cottage.

Augustine said he is also a regular player and has, in the past few days, been winning some small amounts. He is a business owner and intends to assist his mother with surgery on her knee. He also urged others to be part of the game.
