The Dominica Freedom Party (DFP) extends heartfelt congratulations to Prime Minister Dr. Godwin Friday and the New Democratic Party (NDP) on their historic and resounding victory in the general elections held on Thursday, November 27, 2025, in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
After nearly 25 years in opposition, the NDP’s return to government reflects the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ unmistakable desire for change and a new national direction for their country. The results show confidence in Dr. Friday’s leadership and grant the NDP a clear mandate to guide the country forward over the next five years.
The DFP commends the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines for their outstanding demonstration of participatory democracy, and congratulates both major parties for a spirited, issues-focused, and competitive campaign. The electoral process displayed fairness, transparency, and respect for democratic norms – standards that all political movements in our region should strive to uphold.
The Dominica Freedom Party also wishes to commend the young people for their participation and engagement in the democratic electoral process of their country. We hope other young people in the region will emulate.
We look forward to continued collaboration with the NDP and our sister parties in the Caribbean Democrat Union (CDU) as we work together to strengthen democratic institutions and promote accountable, people-centered governance across the Caribbean.
We further encourage the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines to work together in a spirit of unity as they chart their country’s future over the next five years.
