The police have confirmed that they have arrested a 68-year-old male for alleged sexual child molestation of an 8-year-old female child on the island.
The individual is said to be a senior member of a Christian denomination church on the island.
Nature Isle News (NIN) can confirm that, acting on a “tip off,” the police arrested the mother at a departure port with the child as she was making attempts to depart the state with the underage child.
This resulted in interviews and confessions with the assistance of the Child Protection Unit of the Social Welfare Department, which is also part of the team dealing with the matter, as investigations intensify.
The matter was brought to the fore almost a week ago; however, attempts by the police to deal with the matter were not met with the cooperation that was required for such a matter.
