Fire officials are reporting another major fire in the city of Roseau.
According to Deputy Fire Chief Matthew Prosper, he was awakened in the early hours of the morning of May 6, 2026, to the news that a major fire was in the City of Roseau.
“The fire has been contained as we speak…we had to also call out a few fire officers who were home,” Prosper stated.
“The fire is on Upper Lane, Kennedy Ave, Hillsborough Street, and has affected the old Roseau Credit Union building, the Law offices of HAJ Chambers (Joshua Francis), and a few other buildings in the area.”
“We are also doing mopping up operations at this time…and will do our investigations into the cause of the fire,” he stated.
A few weeks ago, a fire destroyed the building of Javis Enterprises, and a few months ago, a fire also destroyed several buildings, including Jolly’s Pharmacy in Roseau.
Police are investigating the matter.
