Roseau, Dominica – July 20th, 2026. Commonwealth Sport Dominica, previously branded as Dominica Commonwealth Games Association, is pleased to announce its representation at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games with a six (6)-member delegation comprising three (3) athletes and three (3) officials competing in Athletics and Swimming.

Dominica has secured three Commonwealth Games medals in its history, with triple jumper Thea LaFond Gadson winning two Commonwealth Games medals during her career, making history as the most decorated Dominica Commonwealth Games athlete.
This small but accomplished team is poised to make history.
Two-time Commonwealth Games medalist Thea LaFond-Gadson will serve as Dominica’s Opening Ceremony flagbearer, becoming
the first Dominican woman to compete at three consecutive Commonwealth Games as she pursues a third straight Commonwealth Games medal. Jasmine Schofield, Dominica’s leading female swimmer and Opening Ceremony baton bearer, will become the country’s first female
swimmer at the Games, coming off a major performance boost having reached five finals at the 2026 Panamerican Championships. Finally, Dennick Luke enters the Games after a strong 2026 season, including a new national record, and will be the first Dominican to compete in the 400m hurdles at a Commonwealth Games.
Billy Doctrove, President of the Commonwealth Sport Dominica, stated, “While the team is small, it is comprised of athletes who regularly compete on the international stage, and the selected athletes are of very high caliber. We are hopeful for multiple finals appearances and podium finishes as they proudly represent Dominica at the Glasgow 2026.”
