Valentine Poponne, a well-known Dominican businessman and the father of Melissa Poponne Skerrit, a cabinet minister and the wife of Dominica’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, has died. His death comes less than a week after the passing of another prominent Dominican businessman, McMillian Jno Baptiste.
