Police are investing another fatal road traffic accident that occurred on the evening of August 31, 2026 in Canefield.
According to a release from the police, “preliminary investigations indicate that on Monday 31st August 2026 about 8:45 pm, Garry Gage male 59- year-old of Kennedy Avenue Roseau was riding his Honda PCX scooter in a northerly direction along the E.O. Leblanc Highway in Canefield.”
“At the same time Jesse Etienne male 21-year-old of Roger Canefield was driving a trailer truck in a southerly direction along the Imperial Road and turning right unto the E.O Leblanc Highway, when the two vehicles collided at the junction of the Imperial Road and the E. O Leblanc Highway.”
The release from the police states, that the motor scooter, which collided with the left side of the trailer was extensively damaged to its front while the trailer apparently sustained no damage. The driver of the trailer truck was uninjured. The rider of the scooter who suffered severe injuries, was transported to the Dominica-China Friendship Hospital where he was examined and pronounced dead that same night.
Police are expressing its sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
