Benjamin strokes first century

National wicketkeeper, Casimir Benjamin stroked the first century of the 2021 Dominica Cricket Association Trading International Group T20 National Cricket League.

Casimir stroked an unbeaten century as he led his team, Convenience Plus St. Paul’s Cricket Club to an emphatic 95 runs victory over Gladiators on Sunday at the Benjamin Park in Portsmouth.

In his team’s total of 203 for one from 20 overs, Casimir belted his way to 123. He was ably supported by Jervon Raphael with 52 runs.

Clementon LeBlanc was the most successful bowler for the Gladiators taking one for 32.

Set a victory target of 204, Gladiators could only muster 108 for eight in their allotted 20 overs. Garvin Marcellin and Fabien Etienne were the leading scorers with 29 and 25 runs respectively. Clemenson LeBlanc contributed 19.

For the victorious St. Paul’s Cricket Club, Sebastien Brumant bagged three for 23 and Lee Louisy claimed two for 26. There was one wicket apiece for Liam Sebastien and Niall Payne.
