Weather Outlook for Dominica and the Lesser Antilles

A high pressure system is expected to be dominant across the area generating breezy conditions today. Occasional cloudiness with brief showers are expected across the island during the period.
Hurricane Larry is now a Category 3 system. A reduction in wind speed will be evident on Sunday as the storm passes north east of the region, while a trough associated with the system is expected to affect the area on Monday. Larry is not projected to move across the Lesser Antilles.
Dust haze is expected to linger across the area, into Sunday. People with respiratory sensitivities are advised to take all precautions to avoid complications.
Slight to moderate seas are anticipated during the next 24 hours with waves peaking to 7.0ft. Swells produced by Hurricane Larry can be expected along the eastern coastline on Sunday, with heights increasing to peak near 10.0ft by Monday. Life-threatening surf and rip currents are expected. A High Surf Advisory will be in effect from tomorrow. All are advised to stay out of the water.
