Police have formally arrested and charged 21-year-old Ronaldo Wiltshire of Castle Bruce for the brutal murder of businessman Norman Rolle.
Wiltshire appeared before Chief Magistrate Candia Carette-George on Monday, November 1, 2021, where the charge was read to him. He was not required to enter a plea since murder is a capital offense and will be tried before a high court judge and jury.
He was not represented during his brief appearance in court.
Meantime, Phillip Rolle the nephew of the late Norman Rolle said the Rolle family is “saddened by the horrific and senseless act of violence against Norman Rolle, a father, grandfather, and uncle.”
“We thank the many persons who have so far assisted in the investigations and also offered support of condolences…the loss is real and we are still coming to grips with this tragedy,” he said.
“Our family continues to be steadfast for our love for country and people and we are sure that with time and the grace of God we shall recover from this ordeal. We pray that his passing in this manner at this time of our national observance will help us to pose and reflect on who we are as brothers and sisters and the community that we want to create, may his soul rest in peace.”
