
The Dominica China Friendship Hospital (DCFH) through its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Dexter James a staff vaccination programme of “know your status” for staff of the hospital.
Dr. James has presented a comprehensive analysis of his findings.
Findings
Staff exhibited an extremely high level of participation (95%) in the “know your status” antigen testing programme
Of the 490 staff-tested, 97% ( 475 persons) returned a negative antigen result
The vaccination status of staff ranges from 38.6% – 42.3%
The level of vaccination by staff is low-moderate
Source of staff with positive antigens were community-based

Doctors had the highest level of vaccine take-up among staff involved in direct patient care (63%)
Nursing staff displayed the lowest level of vaccine take-up among staff involved in direct patient care (27%)
73% of staff with positive antigens were unvaccinated
There seem to be a high correlation between positive antigen tests results and unvaccinated staff
The hospital environment continues to be very safe for patient care
