Nature Isle News (NIN) has just received the sad and shocking news of the death of Sergeant Philbert Bertrand at the Dominica China Hospital (DCFH).
Sergeant Bertrand was on pre-retirement leave and still very active in the Police Force.
Chairman of the Police Welfare Association (PWA) Corporal Jefferson Drigo in expressing sympathies to the family and friends of the late Philbert Bertrand described him as “a hard-working honest and diligent police officer who stood for “fairness and justice.”
According to reports, Bertrand was admitted to the DCFH this week, and one close friend who went to see him on Saturday, October 8, 2022, described his condition as “grave.”
Nature Isle News extends sympathies to the police force, his children, family, and friends.

You people on here posting these nasty comments death comes to everyone. Knowing how he died isn’t important we all have to die one day. When your time comes what’s going to be your reason. This man that I have known for years as family has served his country unlike some of the police officers you all now have in Dominica! If you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all all of our time will come
I am reading a few really insensitive comments in here about the deceased and it is sad. Shocking !! I will say that Philbert and I were classmates at DGS and he was also a very good goalkeeper for the school’s soccer team. I knew him as a great guy and a good friend.

He was a good man. Our families moved to Canfield at about the same time. Im talking about when border park was still around,as well as Lime field and guava field. I spoke with him when he came from Barbados, not knowing it would be the last. May the Most High have mercy. I will surely miss you.
