
Police in Dominica have issued a release stating that they were investigating a fatal vehicular road traffic collision which occurred under the Canefield Cliff about 12:00 noon on Monday 24th August 2026.
According to the release, a Nissan double-cab pickup, driven by Jean Zacharie Honore, male, 56-year-old, Haitian national, who resided at Benjamin Lane Goodwill, was traveling in a northerly direction along the E.O Leblanc Highway under the Canefield Cliff when it collided with a Nissan Frontier pickup, driven by Clementus Joseph, male adult of River Estate, which was traveling in the opposite direction. Both vehicles were extensively damaged.
“Both drivers were transported to the Dominica China Friendship Hospital (DCFH) for medical attention via ambulance. The driver of the Nissan Frontier was treated and discharged that same afternoon, while the driver of the Nissan Double Cab pickup, Zacharie Honore, succumbed to injuries sustained. He was examined and pronounced dead at the hospital.” The CDPF extends sincere condolences to the family of the deceased.
