Roseau, Dominica — Jamaican reggae and dancehall firebrand Capleton delivered a blistering performance at the 26th edition of the World Creole Music Festival (WCMF), turning Windsor Park Sports Stadium into a sea of raised hands, waving flags, and roaring fans on the festival’s opening night, Friday, October 23, 2026.
Known to fans worldwide as “The Fireman,” Capleton brought exactly what his name promises: heat. From the first chant to the final note, his commanding stage presence and relentless energy had the audience singing along, dancing, and responding to every call.

“The Fire Never Ceases”
Fresh off the stage, Capleton was full of gratitude and fire.
“It was a great joy. People were definitely enjoying it — they sang the songs, they waved, they danced,” he said. “I enjoyed myself. It was a great audience. I enjoyed the festival, and I will do it again.”
He gave thanks to everyone who made the appearance possible, while making clear that his performance was built on pure intensity.
“You know my stage presence was what it entailed: the energy, the fire,” Capleton said.
“The fire never ceases; it never calms, it never cools. As I said, the people were definitely into it. Give thanks.”
A Message for the Youth
Beyond the music, Capleton used the moment to deliver a powerful message to young people: build something positive, lasting, and meaningful.
“If you are doing one thing, make sure you do two positive ones,” he urged. “Something that is going to be timeless, something uplifting, meaningful, and empowering.”
It was a fitting message from an artist whose career has long blended dancehall swagger with conscious, spiritually rooted messaging.
Dominica’s Opening Night Ignites
Capleton shared the opening-night bill with fellow Jamaican dancehall star Skillibeng, alongside Klass, Maurane Voyer, Midnight Groovers, Colton T and other regional and Dominican acts.

The lineup blended dancehall, reggae, bouyon, cadence-lypso and kompa in a celebration of Caribbean sound.
The three-night festival ran from October 23 to 25 at Windsor Park Sports Stadium in Roseau, with a star-studded roster that also included Ne-Yo, Machel Montano, Maxi Priest, Alkaline, Fridayy and Uncle Waffles.
But on opening night, it was Capleton who left no doubt: the Fireman had come to Dominica, and the fire burned hot.
