Indian fugitive Mehul Choksi who is in Dominica and claims he was kidnaped made a brief court appearance on his allege charge of “Illegal entry into Dominica.”
Choksi has pleaded “not guilty” to the charge and because of his health conditions is a patient at the Imray Ward instead of being at the islands only prison at Stock Farm.
He appeared before Magistrate Pearl Williams and was further remanded for one day at the hospital and will reappear in court again on June 11,2021 at 9am.
Acting Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Sherma Dalrymple told that court that his remand which commences every three days will be renewed on Friday, June 11, 2021.
