Police are reporting the death of a 49-year-old man from the community of Marigot who resided in Tortola.
According to Police Inspector Fixton Henderson, on Monday, August 21, 2023, at about 3:15 pm Kevin Julius Matthew aged 49 years of Monkey Hill Marigot who resided in Tortola was riding a motorcycle alone in a northernly direction on the Eden main road in Wesley when he appeared to have lost control of the bike and collided with a utility pole on the Western side of the road.
“The motorcycle was extensively damaged and Matthew received multiple injuries and was transported to the Dominica China Friendship Hospital (DCFH) emergency department. The following morning on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, he was examined and pronounced dead by a medical doctor,” police said.
The body is being kept at a funeral home pending an autopsy. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
