Roseau, Dominica – July 2025-The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force (CDPF) is investigating two separate shooting incidents that occurred in Roseau on the morning of Tuesday, July 8, 2025, and the morning of Friday 11th of July 2025. These incidents have left one person dead and three others injured.
According to a release from the office of the acting Deputy Chief of Police, Jeffery James, “The police are urging the public to assist in their investigations.”
“The first incident occurred at the junction of Valley Road and Emshall Road, where a 26-year-old man was fatally shot, and two others sustained gunshot wounds. In a separate incident on Ship Street, a non-national was injured as a result of a gunshot,” the release stated.
“The police are deeply concerned about the increasing use of illegal firearms in our communities and are working tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice. We are appealing to would-be offenders to refrain from such callous behavior and to seek help if they are struggling with issues that may lead them to engage in criminal activity,” Acting Deputy Chief James stated in the release.
“We urge the public to support the police in their efforts to rid our streets of illegal firearms. If you see something, say something. Report all suspicious activities, especially those related to illegal firearms and ammunition, to the authorities. Your information could be crucial in helping us to keep Dominica safer.”
“We implore the public and communities to work with us to prevent further tragedies or criminal activities. We need your help to identify and apprehend those responsible for these heinous crimes.
