Police investigate fatal road traffic accident

The Grand Bay Police are investigating a fatal Road Traffic collision that occurred at about 11:30 am on Sunday, July 28, 2024, on the Grand Bay Catholic Church Road near Pierre Charles Boulevard.

According to reports from the police, a Nissan pickup owned and driven by Phillipson Letang of Pichlin but who resides in Grand Bay, and two female adult pedestrians Margaret Rose Grace Feverier aged 67, and Joan Mark of Grand Bay.

The report from the police indicates that Phillipson accompanied by his wife was driving the pickup down the Catholic Church Road when the pickup “apparently struck the two pedestrians.”

“The pickup then flipped over a culvert wall and landed in a ditch, the driver and his wife sustained minor injuries, they were treated and discharged later that same day from the Dominica China Friendship Hospital (DCFH),” the police stated.

Joan Mark received serious injuries to her left foot and remains a patient at the DCFH. However, Margaret-Rose Grace Feverier was examined by a medical doctor at the DCFH and pronounced dead that same day. The police are extending condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
