Cadence icon Cletus “Halibut” Abraham has died. Abraham was the lead singer of the cadence-lypso band Belles Combo, which gained prominence in the 1970s. He was best known for the hit song “Pawa Bol.”
Born in Mahaut, Abraham contributed to Dominica’s musical landscape through three albums and two hit 45s with Belles Combo. After a long break from performing, he returned to the stage and won the NCCU Cadence-lypso Competition in 2011 with “Pawa Bol,” repeating the feat in 2013.

He last performed on the 2025 World Creole Music Festival (WCMF), where “Pawa Bol” featured in his performance.
Nature Isle News (NIN) extends condolences to the entire family.
