The stage is set for what is expected to be the grand Calypso finals on March 1, 2025, at the Windsor Park Forecourt to meet reigning Calypso Monarch King Dice.
Calypso patrons like the quarter-finals braved the weather to listen to the 20 at the semi-finals. When the results were delivered in the morning, four women and five former calypso Monarchs found favour with the judges.
Trendsetter with his witty song “De Pee Pee” must be asking himself what again he had to do to convince the judges that he deserved a place in the lineup for the finals this time.
Many dubbed his omission as “a travesty” since he had done “all that was required to earn his first entry into the finals.
Lady Esse who is among the four women is the lone newcomer to the finals with her lyrically strong song “Silver Lake Again” as she sings about the plight of residents in that small hamlet. Find the nine chosen and Nature Isle News (NIN) wishes them all success.
