Kyanna Dyer in Ms. Dominica 2024

Miss Ocean Edge, 20-year-old Kyanna Dyer, who represents Morne Daniel, has been crowned Ms Dominica 2024 from the field of six contestants.

Her previous title as Miss Teen Dominica in 2019 reflected her deep dedication to pageantry and cultural representation. Dyer’s conviction in the transformative influence of the arts to safeguard cultural heritage is reflected in her platform, “Youth in Culture Through the Arts.”

Dyer collected awards for Ms Photogenic, best National Spectacular Wear, best in National Specular Wear, best-performing Talent, best in Evening Wear, and Best Response to the Question.

Speaking to reporters after the show, the newly crowned Ms. Dominica says she is happy because her “hard work paid.”

“I worked hard and was expecting the outcome, but to have the crown and the title is a bit overwhelming but regardless, I am excited,” she said.

She said she never felt “deterred” because her aim was “to just get the crown.”

The other winners are Miss Auto Trade and Fine Food Inc., Jorjanna Albert 20 years old who is representing the Roseau Valley and represented the village of Laudat, and Miss Petro Caribe, 21-year-old Nickese Morancie, representing the cultural village of Dublanc also copped awards for-best swimwear, best in swimwear and best evening wear.

Patrons had to wait for over one hour for the results of the show.
