PRESS RELEASE
JCI Dominica has proudly secured the prestigious Best Local Global Goals Project Award at the 2025 JCI World Congress in Tunis, Tunisia, for its flagship initiative, Read With Me, marking a historic moment for the organization and for Dominica.
Read With Me was developed to promote early literacy, strengthen family engagement, and
to provide equitable access to educational resources to children across the island.
The project is grounded in Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, and combines awareness, action, and sustainability through reading sessions, book drives, capacity building for parents and caregivers, and the distribution of literacy support tools.
Local President of JCI Dominica, Phael Lander, explained, “This is a proud moment for JCI Dominica. Read With Me was born from a simple idea in 2020, driven by a powerful purpose: to foster a love for reading, strengthen family engagement, and make learning accessible to every child. Winning Best Local Global Goals Project at the 2025 JCI
The World Congress validates the heart, hard work, and commitment of our members. I am
grateful to every partner, parent, volunteer, and stakeholder who believed in this vision with us.
