
ROSEAU, DOMINICA, Aug. 2026- Police Officer Joshua Hamlet has become the second police officer taken to court charged with the murder of 16-year-old Jerbiah Paul on July 24, 2026.

Officer Hamlet was taken to court on August 17, 2026, before a Roseau Magistrate, where the charge of murder was read to him.
He is represented in the matter by lawyer Dawn Yearwood Stewart, while the state was represented by State attorneys Kevin Julien and Gabrielle St. Hilaire.
He was not required to enter a plea since it’s an indictable matter. He was remanded to the State Prison and will make his next official court appearance on October 2nd 2026, in Portsmouth for reporting.
