Manager of DBS radio Cecil Joseph has confirmed that he has received a pre-action protocol letter from the law chambers of David Bruney on behalf of the Sports Editor at the radio station Garvin Richards.
Richards is challenging the decision of Joseph not to pay him his full salary while he is out traveling with various sporting organizations as a “press officer.”
On June 24, 2024, Joseph held a meeting with the heads of the department to inform them of the letter he received and shared the contents with them.
The manager (Cecil Joseph) and Richards have had a long history of disagreements. Joseph maintains that the radio station cannot be paying Richards while he is out working with sporting organizations.
Nature Isle News (NIN) contacted Richards and Joseph to comment on the matter but both refused.

The key thing here is what’s the station’s policy in such a situation. The board needs to speak on the policy which governs such matters. The soonest that is provided we will know how valid is a potential lawsuits.
