BREAKING NEWS-Man charged with molesting a minor granted bail of $30,000 with one surety

The male individual who was charged with three sexual offences on a 9-year-old child is now out on bail after spending five days on remand at the Dominica State Prison.

The prosecution did not object to bail when he made his first court appearance on Monday, March 2, 2026, where the charges were read to him.

However, his lawyer informed the court that they were not yet in a position to deal with bail and needed a few days to have it sorted out. The bail hearing was set for Friday, March 6, 2026.

The Magistrate then set bail at EC$30,000.00 with one surety. As part of his bail conditions, he must report to the Police Station in his community every Monday between 7 am and 7 pm. He is also NOT to interfere with the virtual complainant, directly or indirectly, or with any other prosecution witnesses, whether through an agent or a third party.

He also MUST inform the court of his desire to leave the country. Must NOT enter ANY building or place where the virtual complainant is. Any breaches of those conditions will result in the revocation of his bail.

He is represented by attorney at law Wayne Norde and Gina Abraham-Thomas in the matter.
