The police in Dominica have arrested and charged Christian Yannick Blanc of Tete Morne Grand Bay for the murder of 31-year-old Jason Sorhaindo from Montin Grand Bay on August 15, 2023. Sorhaind sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
Blanc appeared before Chief Magistrate Candia Carette George on August 18, 2023, where the charge of murder was read to him.
He was not required to enter a plea since the matter is an indictable offense and must be tried before a Judge and jury at the High Court.
He has since been remanded in custody and the matter is set for November 20, 2023, at Grand Bay. He was unrepresented in court.
