Former NCCU CEO takes over as Manager of Central Credit Union

Aylmer Irish has taken over as the new General Manager of the Central Co-operative Credit Union (CCCUL).

Central Co-operative Credit Union Limited was registered as a newly formed credit union on July 2, 2007, on the amalgamation of the St. Alphonsus and Portsmouth credit unions. The amalgamation which grew from the strategic and long-term planning of these two strong credit unions brought together the second and third largest credit unions on the island.

On May 2, 1996, Irish was employed as Deputy General Manager of the then Roseau Cooperative Credit Union (RCCU), he acted as General Manager from 1997 to 1999. And was appointed General Manager in 2008.  He was part of the amalgamation process and saw the credit union through it all and was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in 2010 at the end of the amalgamation.

After serving the institution for 27 years, they parted ways in May 2023.
