As the government of Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit issued a free call for those with illegal firearms and ammunition to turn them in by extending the amnesty until December 1, 2023, the police are investigating a shooting incident that happened on River Street.
Reports are that just after 8 p.m. on the evening of November 1, 2023, several gunshots were fired at someone who was with friends at a bar on River Street in Roseau.
One individual sustained gunshot wounds to his hand and was taken to the Dominica China Friendship Hospital (DCFH) for medical attention.
The police were summoned and immediately cordoned off the area looking for spent shells from the shooting incident.
