UPDATE-Journalist Ferdina Frampton has died

Dominica National Council of Women (DNCW) describes her as “A national icon who has left an impressive legacy.”

The mood is somber, the crying endless as the news spread of the passing of Ferdina Frampton who worked as Senior Marketing & Communications Lead at Cable & Wireless Communications (Flow) Dominica.

She was also the host of a popular radio programme on QFM “In the Spotlight.”

The staff of FLOW cried openly outside the Dawbiney Ward at the Dominica China Friendship Hospital (DCFH) where she died as they tried to come to grips with the sad news.

She was admitted and had a minor surgery but was recovering well from all reports reaching Nature Isle News (NIN).

Her brothers, sisters, and also close family members, and the media fraternity are still trying to come to grips with her sudden passing.

The Dominica National Council of Women (DNCW) expressed shock at the passing of Framptom who was a popular figure in Dominica and a release had this to say.

“The DNCW expresses condolences to the family, friends, staff of FLOW and the media fraternity, fans of In the Spotlight who mourn the loss of this national icon Ferdina Frampton.”

“Her sudden passing brings us face to face with our mortality and it reminds us that we are dust in the wind…here one moment and gone the next.”

“Ferdina was a shining example for many women and this is evident in the massive outpouring of sympathies. Women carry the burden of not living for themselves but for all their dependants and also those whose lives they impact directly or indirectly. We would like to remind women that we need to care for ourselves if we want to be able to care for others. Ferdina has left an impressive legacy and we need to cherish her memory and use it as an impetus to keep doing the right thing all the time and to break the glass ceiling for women and their families.” May she rest in peace.!

Nature Isle News (NIN) expresses condolences to her brothers and sisters and all siblings on her passing.
