A blessing for Blessings

Julius Tyrone Anthony known to many as “Blessings” has won the Super Six Jackpot of $210,000.00 in Dominica and calls it a “blessing.”

A regular calling to various talk shows in Dominica, Blessings bought his winning ticket in St. Joseph from the 767 Convenient Shop.

He says that although he dreamt of one day winning he had all but given up and had vowed that this ticket would have been his last. “I was just spending and spending and I said this was going to be my last ticket purchase,” he said.

“I want to encourage people to play the National Lotteries, you never know when your chance comes…I have been through hell with my sickness and I want to thank all those who over the years have assisted me, I am eternally grateful to each of you.”

He did not say how he was going to spend his winnings but assured all that it was going to be put into good use since he does not have a house of his own.

The 55-year old father is a diabetic and has lost some of his toes.

Sales & Marketing Manager of the Dominica National Lotteries (DNL) Ken George disclosed that in 2021, the DNL paid out 9 jackpot winnings totaling 4.3 million dollars and four Dominicans benefitted from that.

“We also paid out 30 million in the combined games of Blast 26 million and the other games 4 million, so this is a testimony of the impact of the lottery in the four Windward Islands,” he said.

In December, the highest jackpot payout was 2 million won by a St. Lucian national.
