PRIME MINISTER SKERRIT TO ATTEND CARICOM, CELAC MEETINGS

PRESS RELEASE

Roseau, Dominica- February 23, 2024: Prime Minister, Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit will
attend the Forty-Sixth Regular Meeting of the Heads of Government of the Caribbean
Community (CARICOM) in Georgetown, Guyana from February 25th-28th 2024.
The meeting will focus on regional food and nutrition security, developments in regional
transportation, climate change and climate financing, and global and hemispheric issues to
include developments in the Middle East.
Heads of Government will also discuss the ongoing situation in Haiti and receive an update
on the implementation of the decision to work towards free movement for all Caribbean
Community nationals.
Prime Minister Skerrit will then move on to St. Vincent and the Grenadines for
the 8th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), which will be held on March 1st, 2024.
The Summit will address the strengthening of the CELAC and the sustainable development
of the Latin American and Caribbean regions.
In the absence of Prime Minister Skerrit from the State, Honourable Dr. Irving McIntyre,
Minister for Finance, Economic Development, Climate Resilience, and Social Security will
serve as the Acting Prime Minister.
