Retired Superindent of Prisons Denis Blanc has died

The Prison fraternity in Dominica is mourning the loss of retired Superintendent of Prisons Denis A Blanc. Mr. Blanc died at the Dominica China Friendship Hospital (DCFH) last week after battling an illness.

Blanc served at the Dominica Prisons for many years and rose to the top rank of Superintendent of Prisons after the retirement of Algernon Anthony Charter.

He was also Charter’s deputy for a long time, with many describing him as “a cool, collective and assertive” individual.

Blanc proceeded on pre-retirement leave in 2016, with Ken Jean Jacques taking up the post of Prison Superintendent acting.

Nature Isle News (NIN) extends condolences to the prison fraternity and the family of Denis Blanc.
