Construction of NCCU’s La Salette Branch reaches an advanced stage

Roseau, Dominica – September 16, 2026: Significant progress has been made on the construction of the National Cooperative Credit Union (NCCU) Ltd.’s new La Salette Branch at Pointe Michel.
Since the groundbreaking ceremony in January 2026, Phase One of the project has progressed from foundation works to the erection of walls and concrete columns, and the placement of steel reinforcement and formwork at the first-floor level.
NCCU’s Project Manager Hillarian Jules said works remain on track for the targeted completion date, bringing NCCU closer to establishing a modern branch facility to serve Pointe Michel and surrounding communities better.
“We look at the work schedule of the contractor, and we are still three weeks ahead of schedule, so a lot of work has been done. We are all pleased with the quality and speed of the work… The building on a whole is really a flagship for NCCU. It will be outfitted with modern amenities and aesthetics,” Jules noted.
Phase One is scheduled for completion by April 2027, and by the end of that year the two-storey building is expected to be substantially completed.

Phase Two will include electrical and plumbing works, as well as the installation of IT infrastructure. Completion is expected in line with the contractor’s schedule. The branch will be a state-of-the-art facility featuring an ATM and night safe deposit for the first time. It will also be equipped with solar panels to provide backup power. Other amenities will include a member lobby, a lower-level counter for senior citizens and persons with disabilities, and a sick bay for staff.
Roy C Construction Limited is the project’s contractor.
