ROSEAU, DOMINICA– The “paper committal hearing” scheduled for July 16, 2024, in the American millionaire Jonathan Lehrer double murder case has been adjourned to September 23, 2024.

Lehrer is one of two men charged in the killings of a Canadian couple Daniel Langlois and Dominique Marchand. Their bodies were found in a burnt-out car last December 2023.

Lehrer and his co-accused Robert Snider Jr are inmates at the Dominica State Prison and bail has been denied.

Trinidadian lawyer Senior Counsel Keith Scotland is heading the States case along with Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Sherma Dalrymple.

Also in attendance were Norman Langlois and his wife who are expected to testify in the matter. The Canadian High Commissioner was also in attendance an official from the American Embassy.

Both men told the press, “We are not at liberty to speak on the matter” and shied away from all further questions.

Investigating officer ACP Jeffery James also shied away from answering questions.

“The matter has been adjourned to September 23, 2024, and on that day, it will be a case management conference after which it will most likely move on,” Special Prosecutor Keith Scotland SC told the press.

Lehrer is represented by Attorneys at law Lennox Lawrence and Wayne Norde and they both, refused to make any comments on the trial.

Langlois was a well-known Quebec businessman and the founder of Softimage, a digital effects program used on many blockbuster films including Jurassic Park, The Matrix, and Harry Potter. He owned an eco-resort in Dominica and lived there with his wife.
