One man arrested as Police investigate suspected Homicide

The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force (CDPF) says that they are investigating “a suspected homicide arising from an incident which occurred on Hanover Street, Roseau, during the early hours of Monday, 1st June 2026.”

According to the Police PRO acting Superintendent of Police Fixton Henderson, “Preliminary investigation indicates that Trevor Viville, a 56-year-old male of Boetica who resided at River Street, Roseau, was allegedly involved in an altercation with another individual at approximately 2:45 a.m. on Monday, 1st June 2026, on Hanover Street, Roseau, when he allegedly sustained an injury.”

“Viville was transported to the Accident and Emergency Department of the Dominica-China Friendship Hospital that same Monday morning, and later that day, he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for medical attention, where he was subsequently examined and pronounced dead by a medical doctor on Tuesday, 2nd June 2026,” Henderson stated.

The body, he disclosed, is being kept at a funeral home pending an autopsy.

“One man has been apprehended and is in police custody on suspicion of murder…the CDPF extends condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased,” he said.
