The police say that they are investigating a shooting incident at Pointe Michel which left one St. Lucian National nursing gunshot wounds.
According to a release from the police, “On Sunday, 27th September 2026, at about 6:30 pm, Johny Alphonse, a 37-year-old male of St. Lucia, who resided at Green Valley in Pointe Michel, was shot while standing on the public roadside at Green Valley in Pointe Michel.”
Preliminary investigations indicate that his assailants were traveling in a motor vehicle at the time of the incident.
“Alphonse received multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to the Dominica China Friendship Hospital (D.C.F.H.) via ambulance, where he is receiving medical attention. The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force (CDPF) is asking anyone who may have information in relation to that shooting incident to contact the Pointe Michel Police at 266 4405 or 266 4898, the CID at 266 5165 or 5157, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477.”
