
The Commonwealth of Dominica (CDPF) is investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred about 1:15 pm on Thursday, 25th June 2026, in the community of Concord.
According to the police, Preliminary investigations indicate that a Suzuki Swift car traveling towards Marigot along the Dr. Nicholas Liverpool Highway collided with a roadside parapet near the Concord Primary School.
“The four occupants of the vehicle were transported to the Marigot Hospital for medical attention. However, 95-year-old Maria Alfred of Marigot, a passenger, succumbed to injuries and was pronounced dead at the Marigot Hospital. The three other occupants, including the driver, sustained injuries and were referred to the DCFH for further medical assessments. The vehicle was extensively damaged. Investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is ongoing,” the police stated.
The CDPF extends its condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased and wishes the injured a full and speedy recovery.
