Two men charged with murder

By Ronalda Luke-Pascal

A 28-year-old from the community of Wesley is now on remand at the Dominica State Prison (DSP) in Stock Farm after he appeared in court on a charge of murder.
Jamol Robin appeared before the Roseau Magistrate’s court on September 30, where the charge was read to him. The prosecution is alleging that Robin of Joe Burton, Wesley, on September 27, 2025, at Eden Road, Paulpa, Wesley, he murdered Delroy Lee of Marigot.

Police reports indicate that on the evening of September 27, Robin allegedly inflicted a fatal stab wound on Lee, who was later pronounced dead by a medical doctor. During the hearing, presiding Magistrate Michael Laudat informed the accused that, given the nature of the charge (murder), it being a capital offence, the Magistrate’s Court had no
jurisdiction to consider bail.
The matter was adjourned to December 12, 2025, for the commencement of the
preliminary inquiry, during which the court will determine whether there is sufficient evidence to commit the case to the High Court for trial. Recently, a 21-year-old from Grand Bay, Harold Harris Henry, was also remanded at the Dominica State Prison following a charge of murder preferred against him by the police.

The accused, through his lawyer, surrendered to law enforcement on September 22 and appeared before the Roseau Magistrate Court, where the charge was read to him.
According to the complaint of the police, it is alleged that on September 11, 2025, Henry murdered Leslie at Lalay, Grand Bay. The incident is said to have occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. The accused is represented by attorney-at-law Zena Moore Dyer. The matter was adjourned to December 10, 2025, for the commencement of the preliminary inquiry. Leslie was the 13th homicide victim in Dominica for 2025.
