Police have formally charged a male individual in connection with sexual intercourse with a minor.
The individual has been slapped with unlawful Sexual intercourse, indecent Assault and unlawful sexual connection with a minor.
He made his first court appearance today, March 2, 2026, where the charges were read to him.
These matters are of an indictable nature to be tried at the High Court before a Judge and Jury, hence he was unable to enter a plea.
The prosecution did not object to bail; however, his lawyer, Wayne Norde, informed the court that they were not ready to deal with the bail application.
As a result, he has been remanded at the Dominica State Prison (DSP) until March 6, 2026, when a formal bail application will be made.
The matter was then adjourned to Monday, June 22, 2026, for case management.
