
The newly elected members of the Roseau City Council (RCC) have decided to place their trust in veteran councillor Lucy Belle-Matthew to be the Mayor of the City of Roseau.
According to reports, reaching Nature Isle News (NIN), Lucy Belle Matthew was elected unopposed to the post by the 13-member council.
At the recently held council elections, the following eight persons were elected.

| 2. Michael A Moreau | 74 Votes |

| 1. Lucy V Belle-Matthew | 418 Votes |
| 2. Sherman Boston | 272 Votes |
The government then nominated the following five to complete the process: Sonia Felix-Letang, Kelvin Rolle, Samantha Robinson, Rhoda St. John, and Bertillia Bethal.
A date is expected to be set for the inauguration of the new council.
