Veteran calypsonian Gregory “Karessah” Riviere is now the new President of the Dominica Calypso Association (DCA).
He took over as the head of the DCA on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, when the newly elected members of the executive convened for a meeting to determine official positions within the organization.
The DCA had been without an executive following the resignation of the Davidson “Observer” Victor led executive after controversy erupted over their re-election in what some say was a “violation of the Constitution,” which speaks of “a two-term mandate for any executive.”
Joey “Explosion” Lloyd was appointed to lead the DCA into the general election of a new executive.
Fitzroy “Bingo” Leon is the new Vice President, the Secretary position being filled by Renna “Mystrie” Prosper, and Joey “Explosion” Loyd was elected as Treasurer.
Royette Laurent is the Assistant Secretary/Treasurer, and Peter Letang is the Public Relations Officer (PRO).
The other members of the executive are Jerry “Oracle” Loyd, Chester “Daddy Chess” Letang, and Keith “Tronada” Hurtault.
