Roseau, Dominica-November 23, 2022: The Government of Dominica has approved the granting of concessions on Christmas barrels imported into Dominica for the period December 18, 2022, to January 17, 2023.
Barrels, valued up to EC$1, 500.00, shall be exempt from Import Duty and Customs Service Charges.
Each household in Dominica shall be entitled to a maximum of two (2) barrels. Boxes, drums, crates, and cartons of equivalent size to a regular barrel will also be eligible.
Barrels shall be for personal use only and not for commercial use; and eligible items shall be foodstuff with limited items of clothing, toiletries, and toys.
The recipients of barrels shall be required to pay a flat service charge of ten dollars ($10.00) to the Dominica Air and Seaports Authority (DASPA) for charges related to handling and storing the barrels.
