The Government of Dominica has announced the revision of protocols for the yachting sector, effective December 13, 2021.
In summary, vaccinated travellers will require a Negative PCR test taken up to 72 hours prior to arrival, a Health Notification of
Approval to travel to Dominica upon completion of the health screening questionnaire, and a vaccination certificate (if applicable). Upon arrival, vaccinated travellers will undergo an Antigen test and if negative, will be medically
cleared.
This represents a major revision, as previously, vaccinated persons were still required to quarantine for two days. Non vaccinated travellers will also undergo an Antigen test, followed by five to seven days of mandatory quarantine on their vessel or a managed experience at a Safe in Nature certified property.
The revised protocols are expected to lead to an increase in visitor arrivals and contribute to improved livelihoods for individuals who work within the sector.
The Ministry of Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiatives encourage citizens to practise all safety measures to reduce the risk of infection and to get tested and vaccinated to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
